Health and Wellness

First United. offers a number of opportunities to focus on health and wellness in a number of ways:

  • A nutrition group regularly swims at a local pool.
  • For those who are more adventurous, a group called the Adrenaline Junkies provides an opportunity to whitewater raft in the summer and to toboggan on the slopes of Cypress in the winter.
  • Morning footcare is a vital part of the ministry of First United.  Members of the community are able to soak their feet in warm water, receive first aid and receive a clean pair of socks.  Foot care time is also a chance for volunteers and members of the Downtown Eastside to engage in conversation as the circle of care is expanded to include anyone who wishes to participate.
