The people in the Downtown Eastside are our people – brothers, mothers, sons and nieces of people from our own neighbourhoods and/or families. The challenges and opportunities in the DTES are our challenges and opportunities. The DTES is where Vancouver was born. And it is where you and I can rebirth a new future.  Together we can develop a new and better way of living with each other, sharing more effectively the gifts and wealth we have, and better sharing the burdens we all carry.
