The First United Church Mission is funded, primarily, by donations from individuals, congregations, foundations, the Mission and Service Fund of the United Church of Canada and BC Housing. As the scope of the work has expanded in recent years, the budget has also increased. Special fund-raising events and an expanded number of donors have helped us meet the challenge. We invite new donors to assist in whatever way they can, with special encouragement to people to consider monthly donations.

Insurance Donations
Life Insurance policies may be used as an effective way to support the work of First United Church. The church becomes the owner of the policy, and if premiums are still being paid, the donor’s premium payments, made through the church, are fully tax-deductible.
Property, Securities or Equity Stock Donations
If given to a registered non-profit society, donors of property, securities or equity stocks can avoid paying capital gains tax.
