Wednesday 6:30 to 8:30pm

Everyone welcome, includes dinner.

A chance to gather in community every week to dig deeper into questions of faith and spirituality. The discussion follows wherever the Spirit leads. Everyone, of all faith (or no faith!) backgrounds, is warmly welcomed.

Monday, Wednesday, and Friday, 9:00 to 9:30 am

Everyone welcome, coffee served.

Every Monday, Wednesday, and Friday morning, anyone who feels compelled gathers together in the chapel to open the day with a spiritual grounding. Here, we ponder the possibility of an authentic life within Christ’s command to: “Love your neighbour as yourself and your God above all else”. In the midst of our daily struggles and the turmoil of life in the Downtown Eastside, this daily blessing is an invigorating and fortifying gift.

Reverend Jim is available every day for community members, volunteers and staff, helping people work through what weighs heavy on their hearts. She also leads baptisms, weddings, memorials and other ceremonies, and works in collaboration with other faith and social justice leaders on community events and other outreach.

Sometimes, the greatest gift is to be heard. Volunteers in the Listening Ministry are here to sit with community members and gently offer their kind presence. They do not offer solutions. They do not seek to fix anyone. They simply listen, without judgment or expectation. It is an abundant gift in a church known as a sanctuary and a safe place.

The prayer chain is a simple ministry: individuals who volunteer receive a blind copy email that includes only someone’s first name and their prayer need. The participants then add the name to their prayer practice. In the chapel there is a box where people put their names and prayer requests. The connection is made and the warm and vibrant energy of Spirit is engaged.

Thursday 9:30 am to 2:30 pm (PLEASE NOTE: Last Healing Touch session will be held June 22, 2017)

Healing Touch is energy work, using words and hand movement to promote wholeness and well-being in body, mind and spirit. One is renewed and refreshed in the process.
