Hundreds of people come through the doors of First United each day seeking comfort, care and a place to belong. When you give goods to our Community Help Desk Program, you increase free access to basic personal hygiene and emergency care items and provide vital support to our neighbours in need.
Due to the unique needs of the community we serve and storage limitations, we can only accept listed items. Please note that advance appointments are required in order to drop-off donated goods. Please review the items we are currently accepting to ensure your donation can be accepted, then call 604-681-8365 ext. 129 to make a drop-off appointment.
New items (unused and, if applicable, in original, sealed packaging)
- Men/women’s underwear
- Bar soap
- Denture cream
- Sewing kits
- Rain ponchos
- McDonald’s and Tim Horton’s gift cards in small amounts (pref. $5)
New or gently used
- Reading glasses
- Winter gloves
- Twin fitted sheets (no flat sheets or other bedding)
- Winter jackets or raincoats (no blazers, jean jackets, suit jackets, etc.)
Donations of food and clothing not listed
Please note that thanks to the generosity of our supporters at Value Village we no longer have a need for clothing donations. If you would like to make a clothing donation, please consider donating to the thrift shops operated by Mt Seymour United Church, Grace United Church, or Value Village who kindly support our work.
Please note that we no longer operate a food bank, though we will occasionally accept pre-approved, high-quality, food-safe products for distribution to community or use in meal preparation. To discuss donations of this nature, please email email@example.com with a description of your donation (expiration, amount, and source) and someone from the team will get back to you as soon as possible.
