Shaughnessy Heights United Church announces a two-part series on reconciliation matters entitled "Covenants and Treaties: Formed, Kept, Broken, Reformed." Both events take place at Shaughnessy Heights United, 1550 West 33rd Ave, Vancouver.
Part I is Sunday April 28, 7pm and will be a screening of the film, “Maker of Monsters” – a documentary about the extraordinary life of Beau Dick, late artist and passionate activist from Alert Bay, BC.
Part II is Sunday May 26, 7pm and will be a panel discussion from legal, political, theological, and geospatial perspectives. Panelists include Stuart Rush, the Rev. Ray Aldred, and Dr. Cole Harris. The panel will be moderated by Aaron Wilson who is a member of the Musqueam Indian Band and Associate with Mandell Pinder LLP.
Admission to both events is by donation and proceeds will go to First United's advocacy program.
